java JDK + JRE explained

on the following registry examples replace with your filepath respectively, always backup the existing keys before!

when you are on x64 system and installing JREx86, the following entries must exist to registry, otherwise not working properly :

the same is when you are on x86 and installing JREx86 with the difference that RuntimeLib keys point to client\jvm.dll, see the example v1.7 v1.8 on top.

On my JRE tests, never needed to set the JRE_HOME variable. What needed is to set the JRE\bin path to USER_ENV_VARS through CPanel > System > Advanced System Settings > Advanced > Environment Variables

Find the JDK v8.151x64 with JRE (147mb) extracted and collected information. (rev2-update the doc)

Find the JRE v1.8.0.151x64 (51mb) extracted.

Find the JRE v1.8.0.151x86 (47mb) extracted.

be aware, the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable should be installed x86 - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555 x64 - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=14632
